SJM Institute of Technology Chitradurga was established in the year 1980 with the blessings of swamiji of SJM Vidyapeeta.The College is located in echo-friendly atmosphere with 35 acres campus sprawled with lush green garden ideal for learning. The college has highly dedicated and experienced faculty members in all disciplines of engineering. The college has spacious classrooms and well equipped laboratories and all basic amenities to support students.The green, healthy, secured, disciplined campus provides platform for students for their career development.

SJMIT has Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Park and IT incubation center to cater the needs of entrepreneur’s cell activities. The college has research center sponsored by VTU Research Grant and K-Fist (Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of Karnataka).The main idea is to promote research and enhance the technical competence. The vision is to empower students with key technologies and research capabilities. The main objective is to develop new generation of researchers and address problems through innovation and research.
