Course Details

The Civil Engineering department was started in the year 1963 since the inception of the institute. Department has grown into a full-fledged civil department by providing specializations in all the areas of Civil. The programs offered by this department are B. E. in Civil Engineering, M.Sc. Engineering, M.Tech, and Ph.D. The Department also conducts many activities, which include teaching at UG level, career counselling for our students and faculty development program.The Department also involved in research and development work and provides technical service and consultancy service to industry and society. The focus of the department is widened to Post Graduate and research studies with the introduction of Post Graduate programs and recognition of the Department as the research centre by VTU. The faculties of the department are encouraged to update their knowledge and upgrade their educational qualification. SIT becomes an autonomous institution in the year 2007 under the VTU.
