Eligibility Criteria

Admission shall be open to the candidates who have passed prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters/years of degree examination and the should have qualified in GATE.

Admission is on the basis of rank obtained in GATE and AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.

Course Details

This course was started in 1982, currently with 25 intake seats. Thermal power engineering offers aspects of design, manufacture, testing, control and evaluation of thermal power equipment. Thermal power plants playing vital power generation. The course content aims at developing the necessary analytical and technical competence among engineers. Career opportunities after successful completion will be with thermal power station across the globe and also in some MNCs including Robert Bosch, Crompton Greaves, Bajaj, Electrolux, Philips, and more. Future scope after graduating in thermal power engineering is very broad.
