Eligibility Criteria

Admission shall be open to the candidates who have passed prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters/years of degree examination and the should have qualified in GATE.

Admission Guidelines

Admission is on the basis of rank obtained in GATE and AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.

Course Details

This branch of engineering was started in 1987, currently with 18 intake seats. This course was designed to provide the graduates with advanced conceptual understanding in design of structures such as dams, bridges, pipelines, roads, towers and buildings, transport systems, harbors, airports and railways. M. Tech in structural engineering program covers computer applications in structural engineering, structural mechanics, structural dynamics, structural reliability and optimization, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel structures, design for wind and earthquake, etc. Students have access to structural lab, material testing lab, computer lab and geo-technical engineering lab and a library.
