Admission shall be open to the candidates who have passed prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% (45% in case of SC/ST) of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters/years of degree examination and the should have qualified in GATE.

Admission is on the basis of rank obtained in GATE and AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.
Course Details
This course was started in 1982, currently with an intake of 18 seats. Environmental engineering typically creates awareness in humans to protect environment around them and also protect humans from adverse effects of environment. The objective of the course is to graduate engineers with aspects of land and water management, environmental assessment, skills in water supply, wastewater treatment, land reclamation and solute transport. Once completion of the course, talented graduates are being recruited by food processing industries, state and central pollution control boards, refineries, urban planning commission, and water resource management industries.
