Course Details
MD in pathology is a 3-year postgraduate program offered at Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. As per Medical Council of India norms, the graduates will have to submit a dissertation/thesis as a part of curriculum under a qualified PG guide. The curriculum particularly focuses on histopathology, cytopathology, hematology and clinical laboratories, blood bank, autopsy. In addition to the above postings, they will get extensive exposure on cytogenetics and advanced molecular techniques such as immunohistochemistry, immune-fluorescence, electron microscopy, and museum techniques. The students will also get exposure on regular scientific discussions during the postings in the forms of journal club, slide seminars, topic presentations, and other advanced presentation and dissertation skills.
