The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in a postgraduate programme and MPhil. The students who have cleared UGC-CSIR NET/JRF examination or SLET/GATE examinations and also the students who have worked as JRF for one year in the externally funded major research projects may be exempted from MPhil requirement. Admission Guidelines

Admission procedure includes Entrance test and personal interview. Entrance test is a two hour written test in Research Methodology and subject specific with 50 Multiple Choice Questions each carry one mark and assessment of past performance in Degree and M.Phil and the research proposal during the Personal Interview. Ph.D programme of the department is running for the past two years. Seven students have registered for the doctoral course. There are empanelled guides from the Christ University and Rajagiri College for social sciences. The PhD course has a rigorous course plan followed by the preparation of a research dissertation.
