Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test
CUSAT CAT is an all India level common admission test conducted by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) for admissions to the various undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses offered by the institutes affiliated to the University.
The test for first degree programmes is three hour long and includes 250 objective type MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) which is based on Plus two syllabus. Around 125 questions are from Mathematics and 125 from Physics and Chemistry with physics to chemistry ratio maintained at 3:2.
Please note that aspirants have to score a minimum of 10 marks for each subject (PCM) to be eligible to figure in the respective rank list. However, this requirement of marks is not applicable for SC/ST students.

Eligibility for Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test
For B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Safety & Fire Engineering, B.Tech. in Polymer Science & Engineering and Five Year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
For B.Tech. in Instrumentation Technology
Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together, with at least 55% in mathematics separately.
For B.Tech. in Marine Engineering
Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for mathematics alone. Should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards. This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also.
Medical fitness Certificate obtained from Medical Examiners approved by DG Shipping is required.
Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.
The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.
Eligibility for admission is based on the directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)
For B.Tech. in Naval Architecture & Ship Building
Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with a First Class (60%) securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics as well as for mathematics, physics and chemistry put together.
Alliance University Engineering Entrance Test Application
Students can register online for CUTSAT CAT. The online application process comprises of two stages.?At the first stage, applicants need to submit a few basic details such as Name, Date of Birth, email id, mobile no, etc correctly to get their user-id and password by SMS/email.
At the second stage, aspirants have to login using the user id and password that they have received. They are immediately asked to change their password.
Completing the Application
After this step, aspirants have to submit all the other details in the inlone registration form and their recent passport size colored photograph(3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with the file size between 4 KB) and 100 KB and signature (3.5 cm x 1.5 cm with file size between 1 KB and 30 KB).
Submitting the Application
After uploading the photograph and signature, aspirants have to confirm the same by hitting the CONFIRM button.
Now, students are directed to the chalan payment mode. Here, they have to choose their bank first and then take the printout of the chalan form along with the instructions page. Once this is done, they have to make the payment in the bank after two working days from the date of registration. Candidates have to make sure that the journal number is correctly entered by the bank in the space given in the chalan form before leaving the bank.
One can also make the payment from any Internet Banking enabled SBI/SBT a/c. For this option, they had to login to the internet banking account.
After logging in, candidates have to select “Payments/Transfers”. Then, select “Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL).
Now, they have to enter the fee type as printed in your chalan and click “Submit” button.
In the “Validation Date” box, one has to enter the date of birth as printed in the chalan.
In the “Fee Reference No” box, they have to enter the registration no as printed in the chalan. Then click “confirm” button to complete the transaction. Aspirants are advised to note down their transaction number for future reference.
